The hardest part of planning a trip is deciding on a location. There are so many fantastic places in the world. Where do you begin? Luckily, we’ve made the task of choosing a destination a little easier for you. Here are some of the most beautiful locations to visit this year.
The Sagrada Familia is such a gargantuan structure that it’s hard to squeeze it into a close-up photograph.
Spain
Spain has always been a popular tourist destination, and that’s still the case in 2019. Barcelona is a stunning city that seems to blossom further with every passing year. The spectacular Sagrada Familia, as pictured above, is a testament to this fact. But pictures can’t do it justice, so make sure you go and see it for yourself. This cathedral was designed a century ago by the famous architect, Gaudi. Posthumous works of art are nothing new, but this might be the most ambitious masterpiece to be completed after an artist’s death. Finishing the cathedral has been an arduous process, but it looks as if the end might finally be in sight. It would be a fitting conclusion to the architect’s life, given that his artistry helped to shape the city. You can admire his designs on nearly every street in Barcelona.
Of course, there’s more to Spain than Barcelona. When you’ve finally had your fill of that stunning city (and it might take you a while), you should head to Madrid. The capital of Spain, surprisingly, isn’t always as discussed as Barcelona, but it has plenty of incredible things to see and do. For starters, you should visit some of its fantastic art galleries. If you’re a fan of creative things, then Madrid is definitely the perfect city for you. The Museo del Prado is home to over 7000 paintings, so that’s a good place to begin. But the Centro de Arte Reina Sofía is home to Picasso’s Guernica, which is probably one of the most famous pieces of art in the world. So, it makes sense to put that at the top of your “Must See” list. You should also visit the Plaza Mayor if you want to admire some of Madrid’s beautiful architecture. It’s an oddly huge square in the centre of Madrid’s packed city streets, and it’ll be a welcome relief if you’re craving both open spaces and wonderful sights.
Malaysia
Malaysia is another gorgeous country that you should consider visiting this year. There’s no denying that it’s a naturally beautiful place, but the nation boasts a proud culture, too. You should learn about its rich and fascinating history of fine arts whilst you’re there. Malaysia is a country that’s proud of its ability to weave fantastic creations. Check out some of the handwoven baskets in local markets whilst you’re there. The attention to detail will astound you. You might even want to rent a property whilst you’re in the country. This will allow you to fully explore this wonderful location.
The Eiffel Tower is one of the most iconic landmarks in the world, and it’s a structure that draws millions of tourists from around the planet.
France
This is another marvellous country that everybody has to visit at some point in their lives. It offers both transfixing vistas and cultural heritage. Obviously, the city that everybody wants to visit is Paris. Even if you’ve been there before, there’s always more to see. The capital is a ginormous city, and even that’s an understatement. You’ll want to see some of Paris’ famous landmarks for yourself, of course. The Eiffel Tower is impressive in pictures, but it’s even more incredible in person. You can even dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant on the second floor. That’s a dining experience you won’t forget in a hurry. You should also visit the Louvre if you’re looking to scratch your creative itch. You’ll find plenty of beautiful art pieces in there.
Japan
Finally, make sure you visit Japan if you want to experience an absolutely sublime country. This location is definitely one of the best in the list, so don’t be fooled by the fact that it’s at the end of the article. You should explore some of its ancient sites so you can appreciate the beautiful culture that has helped to shape this nation. Kyoto was Japan’s capital for centuries, so it’s home to a fascinating historical tapestry of events. Make sure you check out the Kinkakuji. It was once a shogun’s retirement villa, and it’s now a Zen Buddhist temple. Wealth oozes from every piece of this gilded building. It’s a visually captivating and historically intriguing structure. But if you’re looking to experience Japan’s natural beauty, then you should climb Mount Fuji. This is one of the most impressive natural monuments on the face of the planet, so you definitely need to see it.
