Whenever the time comes around to visit the Big Smoke, I always end up checking my bank balance first. After all, it can be a very expensive place to spend a few days. Although, I have heard tell of some clever strategies that mean you can visit England’s capital without having to take out a second mortgage. In fact, you can read on to find out what they are.
Bottomless brunches

There is a major trend for bottomless brunches in London at the mo. This is excellent news for anyone that is looking for a great time, at a vastly reduced cost. In fact, the idea is that you pay a single price and then you can order as many dishes as you like, and drink as much as you want, usually in the form of Prosecco! Something that can save you a real fortune compared to if you bought everything individually and make some of the more expensive city locations more affordable for those on a budget.
Grab cheap theatre seats
Next, if you are looking for fun in London that won’t break the bank, you may think going to the theatre is off limits. However, this is truly not the case. In fact you can get some absolute bargain priced theatre tickets by booking online ahead of time. Such offers even apply for pretty much all the popular shows as well. Something that means you absolutely don’t have to sacrifice your London experience to keep things affordable.
Choose fun but free things to do
Another smart way of keeping costs down when you visit London is to pick things that are 100% free to do, but still provide an entertaining and enjoyable experience. Happily, London is jam-packed with such opportunities from the great museums and art galleries in the centre such as the National History Museum, The V&A, and The Tate, to more avant garde but still supremely enjoyable attractions like God’s Own Junkyard. An exhibition in Wales Now that is dedicated to the fine art of neon signage.
Of course, there are plenty of free seasonal delights to take in as well depending on the time of year. With Tim Burton Halloween pub quizzes in October all the way through to open air cinemas and concerts in the summer. There is even the world famous fireworks display to look forward to on new years eve. Be warned though, you may get stuck in the same place for hours on end, if you choose this option.
Voucher codes
Now, you may not love the adverts that these voucher companies put out, but no one can knock their discounts. In fact, you can do all sorts of activities for a fraction of the cost of what most people pay normally.
For example a tour on the Thames that would usually cost at least £20, can be bought for around £8. You can even hop on and hop off at different locations. Something that will allow you to explore a range of different sites.
