The AEG 7000 Series T7DBE831R Heat Pump Tumble Dryer is a modern, high performance condenser dryer. This means it doesn’t have a hose that needs to be vented to the outside of the house to get rid of clothing moisture. Instead, it collects the water as the clothes are drying in a tank which you simply slide out and empty after each use. It’s quick and easy and means you can locate this dryer almost anywhere within the home.
Efficiently and promptly delivered to us by ao.com, we’ve been trying it out for a week now and, as a family of five, we definitely need a tumble dryer. We do lots of laundry each week and as much as I like to hang clothes on the line outside whenever possible, it’s not always achievable. Often school uniform and in particular, PE kits/activewear needs to be washed again mid week so I need a speedy and efficient way to dry these items.
So how does this AEG Heat Pump Tumble Dryer deliver?
What the Manufacturer Says:
Packed with the latest technology, this AEG heat pump tumble dryer takes special care of your clothes. Its 8kg drum makes it ideal for medium-sized households. Intelligent ProSense® Technology uses sensors to work out the best drying conditions for the load and then automatically adjusts the settings to suit, for a perfectly tailored cycle. Thanks to heat pump technology, the hot air created inside the drum is recycled, making it the most efficient way to dry. It also has a dedicated wool programme which uses lower temperatures and gentler tumbling to keep your favourite woollen items looking like new.

What We Say:
Looks
Modern and sleek in design, you can tell its a quality built appliance and not one you’d feel the need to hide away out of sight. If you don’t have a designated corner of the garage or a utility area that your dryer can go in, this one would definitely look smart, high tech and impressive in any kitchen.
Ease of Use
There’s a large 8kg drum capacity and with a roomy door opening, clothes can be popped inside and removed again swiftly. There’s a straightforward control dial and a nice clear digital display where you can select different drying options, times, levels of dryness, or set a timer delay, plus other features.
Variety of Settings and Options
There’s a good range of settings here, but you are not overwhelmed by too many things to get your head around and its all pretty intuitive. I like that you can select a variety of clothing options with the control dial, from cottons and synthetics to woollens and bedlinen. (On my previous dryer, I basically had two heat settings and a timer.) I love that with the AEG 7000 Heat Pump Dryer you can opt to have your clothes ‘iron dry’ so just slightly damp ready for ironing, ‘cupboard dry’ or ‘cupboard dry +’ meaning that you can put your linens straight away in your drawers and cupboards, or extra dry. You also have control over how long the anti-crease cycle runs – this is where the drum turns occasionally at the end of the cycle, to stop creases forming in your clothes – clever! If you don’t want to dry your clothes straight away, you can delay the start time by up to 2o hours.
Results
We’re finding that our clothes, bedding and linens are coming out really well – nicely dried, they never feel ‘scorched’ or come out in a crumpled mess; towels are soft and fluffy. You shouldn’t need fabric conditioner when using this dryer as the results are just as good, if not better, without it.
Sound
The noise level is 66 decibels and it sounds like a normal level for a tumble dryer in our opinion. It’s not too loud and distracting, more of a steady hum.
Overall Opinion
This is a great family tumble dryer, with a good capacity and choice of drying options. Easy to use and install (just plug it in anywhere and go!). With our unpredictable UK climate, we need the reliability of a good tumble dryer. Price wise, it’s not the cheapest tumble dryer on the market, but I really believe you get what you pay for and with the option to purchase this appliance with 0% finance, costing under £20 per month, I think that would be something to consider.
