Perhaps you remember this retro wardrobe I showed a little while ago…
It must have been in a little boy’s room at one time, as there was the outline of a car sticker at the top of the door.
It’s a nice shape, with cute feet and a sweet key (what is it about little locks with keys? I just love them!)
Anyway, I just had enough Annie Sloan ‘Old White’ chalkpaint left in the tin to paint it (that stuff goes a long way – I’ve done two wardrobes now, a blanket box and some cupboard doors out of that one tin, as well as a couple of smaller things).
Here is how it looks now
I picked out the feet and the shaped detail in grey
Do you like the little bird door knob? I couldn’t resist it when I saw it!
The light was fading a bit when I took these snaps. I’ll take some better ones, then it will be going on sale in my Etsy shop.
Next up, I’ve started work on the ‘pallet-style art’ I wanted to make for the bare wall in the playroom – the wood is just having a quick sand here
and today – literally with the watered down dregs of the chalkpaint tin – I’ve white-washed it, ready for some words to be stencilled on. More soon!

Thanks, I bought it from Next online, a little while back. I’ve seen similar, ceramic ones on Ebay.

Love that you did the wardrobe two-tone. And the bird handle was a great find!
