I absolutely love the Scandinavian vibe and having a simple, uncomplicated wardrobe definitely works for me. Pieces that mix and match effortlessly takes away the daily headache of ‘what to wear?’
Consequently, my daytime staples are white and grey tees, navy blazer, jeans, trainers on repeat. My accessories also tend to be fairly minimal, too – black, tan or nude leather bags and delicate or unfussy jewellery, more often than not in silver.
So I was really delighted to be contacted recently by Nordgreen, the minimalist Danish watch-maker, about a partnership opportunity. A browse of their lovely website confirmed our styles definitely aligned!
This Scandinavian watch brand is still fairly young, having launched as a Kickstarter project a couple of years ago, but with impeccable credentials; the watches are designed by multi-award winning Bang & Olufson designer, Jakob Wagner.
I was sent a gorgeous watch to showcase here on the blog and also given a discount code to share with readers (further details below).
The Native Watch in Silver
Here is the watch I chose, it’s the Native watch in silver with a silver mesh strap. There are two sizes (36mm and 40mm) and I chose the smaller one.
Isn’t it stunning? I usually wear a watch with a leather strap, so this time thought I’d try a metal mesh strap. I must admit, I did wonder whether the mesh would be comfortable to wear or if it would trap and pinch the hairs on my wrist! But I needn’t have worried, it is extremely comfortable and lightweight and doesn’t pinch at all. Having a smallish wrist I went for the more dainty face, which is still a good size, so no less likely to make a statement than the bigger alternative.
If you love Nordic style, I’ve no doubt you’ll adore the Nordgreen watches – they’re all strikingly beautiful in an understated and elegant way. They come in many variations – silver, gold and rose gold, with a choice of leather, nylon or mesh straps. (With interchangeable straps, you can mix and match your watch for any occasion. I really love that versatility.) They’re reasonably priced, too, ranging from 149 – 189 €
On the website you’ll discover three separate collections, for men and women, called Infinity, Native and Philosopher. All are gorgeous, clean in design, but with subtly different features. Their clear faces stand out on the wrist and people will almost certainly ask where you got your lovely watch from. (It has happened to me already!)
Giving Back Program
What I also love about this brand, apart from the quality Danish design, is that Nordgreen is a company that takes social responsibility seriously – believing in doing good along the way. With their ‘giving back program’ when you buy a watch, you get to choose a good cause that your watch purchase will support. Each timepiece comes with a unique number for you to enter on the website enabling you to select a cause of your choice, in the field of health, environment or education.
Not only that, Nordgreen’s processes are as sustainable as possible, as well as packaging being recyclable. Quite simply, a Nordgreen watch looks great on your wrist whilst doing good, which is a nice feeling.
Your Discount Offer
As I mentioned above, Nordgreen is kindly offering readers a discount of 15% off any watch purchase. All you have to do to take advantage of this great saving is enter the code TIDYAWAY15 when you check out.
