It has been quite a while since I wrote a review post as I only tend to try out products that I genuinely like and will use in my home and today is a fine example of that kind of product.
I was recently contacted by The Rug Retailer, one of the UK’s largest retailers of rugs. With a welcoming showroom in Warrington and the option to shop online, you can choose from a huge selection of gorgeous contemporary rugs.
I was invited to try out one of their stylish and popular rugs, the Suprema Silver Rug. Thick and chunky, in a choice of neutral colours, it looked like the perfect option for the bedroom which is shared by two of my sons. For a while the boys had wanted carpet or a large rug on their floor. We ripped up the old carpets ages ago, to reveal the original floorboards. But the problem with bare floorboards is the risk of occasional splinters and just the lack of comfort and cosiness.
As soon as I unrolled the rug, I could see how deep and luxurious the pile was – very plush!
As you can see, it perfectly fills the main floor space and the beautiful silvery tones help to lighten and brighten the whole room.
Our rug is the largest size – a really generous 160 x 230cm (or 5’3 by 7’7 if you’re old school). Prices start at £44.95 going up to £194.95. Whilst the light grey colour perfectly complements the bedding, wallpaper and blind in the boys’ room, the cream and dark grey alternatives look equally nice:
The Suprema rug is a high quality machine-made rug, manufactured using heavy weight heat-set polypropylene yarn. It is anti-shedding, anti-static, hard wearing and easy to clean. What more could you want from a rug?
Having had both wool rugs and synthetic ones, I’ve become a big fan of the polypropylene options. I find them a lot easier to care for and to keep looking good compared with wool (which seems to be harder to remove stains from and can soon look dirty). They are usually good value, too.
I think the boys’ bedroom is the perfect spot for lounging and relaxing now. It has given the floor space some much needed softness and comfort. The pile looks as good as new after a quick vacuum and it is so thick, your toes literally disappear in it – luxury! Of course it would be ideal for a living room, too, not just a bedroom.
Just as introducing new cushions and throws can revamp a room, so does adding a cosy new rug. It’s a really great way to update your space in an instant. Depending on the rug you choose, it can lend texture, colour, pattern or tone to a room. There is such a wide choice of smart, contemporary rugs at The Rug Retailer, I’m sure you’ll find the perfect one for you – and you’ll be extra glad when winter comes around again for that soft and warm touch underfoot.
Why not add a little deep pile luxury to your floor?
